Awkward Family Christmas, Volume II

My family is not normal… so why should we take normal Christmas pictures?? Exactly. And yet it must be attempted. For your enjoyment, here are some of the best outtakes from this year!

It’s awfully bright here… well let’s try it anyway… make the best of it…

Then Jacob declares a sun staring contest at the last second.

We could have stopped there. Maybe put it with this verse and called it good: “And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear.” (Luke 2:9 ESV)

But we pressed on. So let’s move to the shade and stand awkwardly even though we KNOW a picture is being taken… ok, got it!

Maybe we look too happy. Move in closer. {And no folks, clashing plaid was never on our minds for a moment, so, whatever.}

Bless your cotton-pickin’ heart JWP. I will bless you and not curse you. Even though we could have been done by now.

The moment comes when we decide to be awkward on purpose. It comes natural. Like the bursting of a dam.

Joe’s got the TNT covered.

Oh boy…

We are insane. But you love us. If you didn’t already, you do now.

Last year’s awkwardness.
