Mamaw’s house

These are things that are always there.

My favorite green drinking glasses, the flowers in the front porch planters, the giant oak tree, the sewing machine… I’ve always known them.

Many a game of Upwords has been played around this table. I look through the notepad to see the scores from past games with Aunt Gwen, Katy, Uncle Jerry & Aunt Lynne. And no, I don’t take it easy on Mamaw. She knows she raised a competitive family!

This house was my Great-Grandpa & Grandma Newell’s before Mamaw & Papaw lived there. And Mama Newell was the original owner of the sewing machine, a 1934 Singer.

These things are a blessing, a warm museum, home.
